If any common symbol represents 2022, it’s a big fat question mark. Many training program professionals are telling us that, two years into the pandemic, they’re not sure how their efforts will be divided among live in-person, live online, or asynchronous offerings. The hope many programs held for more in-person options in 2021 has been replaced by “Who knows?”
Hopeful signs
Despite the uncertainty, emphasis on Learning and Development continues to grow. According to the 2021 LinkedIn Workplace Learning Report, many training programs expect their organizations to spend more money on L & D this year. According to the report, 59% of respondents worldwide chose “Upskilling and reskilling” as a priority in 2022.
From there, what else can we expect?
- As many workers continuing to work from the safety of home, will training options reflect that with more online and asynchronous learning opportunities?
- Will robust learning programs help attract and keep their best employees?
